Business Case & Task Ahead

</aside>

At FictionaTech, a fast-growing SaaS company, the onboarding process for new hires has become overly passive — filled with long slide decks, policy briefings, and tool walkthroughs. New employees often complete onboarding without fully understanding how their roles connect to real clients, products, or decision-making scenarios. As a result, their time to productivity is slow, and confidence in handling real-world tasks remains low.

The challenge is to reimagine onboarding as an interactive, AI-supported simulation where newcomers step into realistic situations — handling client queries, making process decisions, and receiving instant AI-driven feedback. We want to design a prompt-based AI simulation that helps them practice these conversations safely before they face real customers.

🧩 New joiners at FictionaTech often struggle with the “first client interaction” — they understand products and policies but freeze when faced with tough, real-life conversations (e.g., handling a frustrated client, giving updates, or saying “I don’t know” professionally).

🔍 The Task (for Breakout Groups)

Each team will create a single GPT prompt that turns one onboarding moment into an interactive, realistic simulation.

You have ~2 hours to:

  1. Choose one onboarding scenario (from the options below).
  2. Write a first-draft prompt that generates the simulation.
  3. Test and refine it using feedback prompts (iteration round).
  4. Present your final refined prompt + sample output.

🧠 Step 1 – Pick Your Scenario

Choose one FictionaTech onboarding challenge:

  1. The First Client Call – A customer reports a bug and is upset.
  2. The Feature Delay – You must explain a missed deadline to your manager.
